The answer
One key, and the text is written into the field
Dictadoc runs beside your browser and knows nothing about Doctolib. You put the cursor in the field to fill in, press the dictation key, speak, then press again. Once the transcription is done, Dictadoc types the text out keystroke by keystroke, as though you were typing it, where the cursor was.

What you fill in there
What a consultation leaves to fill in
-
The consultation note
Reason, examination, conclusion and plan, in the patient's record. It is written while they get dressed, or just after they leave.
-
The referral letter
The reason, the history, the current treatment and the question you are asking. The patient takes it away, so it has to be ready before the end of the consultation.
-
The handover letter
What the doctor taking over needs to know, on admission to or discharge from hospital.
-
Certificates
A few lines, often asked for as the patient stands up, and read back carefully because they carry your signature.
The limits
What Dictadoc does not do with Doctolib
-
No connector, no integration
Dictadoc is not linked to Doctolib and has nothing to install in it. It does not read your diary, knows none of your patients and opens no record.
-
Writing into the field has to be turned on
It is off by default, because it types text into the active window. You turn it on in the settings, and you keep manual copying if you prefer.
-
A field that refuses typing refuses dictation
Some fields in a browser do not accept simulated typing. The text then stays in Dictadoc and you copy it, which works everywhere.
For a group practice
Dictadoc Server transcribes for every workstation in the practice from one computer. Workstations need neither a graphics card nor internet access.
Common questions
Before you try it
Do I have to install a browser extension?
No. Dictadoc is a desktop application and adds nothing to your browser. It writes into the active window, whatever that is, which covers Doctolib as much as a word processor.
Do my dictations go through Doctolib's servers?
No, and not through ours either. The transcription happens on your computer, and nothing you dictate is sent over the internet. Only the written text goes into the field, as though you had typed it.
Does it also work in the Doctolib app on a Mac?
Dictadoc writes into the active window, so into a desktop application as much as a browser. We have not checked every screen of every version: check it on your own machine, with your own fields.
